unusual routes
Do you love cats as much as we love them? St. Petersburg is rightfully considered the most cat loving city in Russia. We offer you to get acquainted with the cat population of the Northern capital: from sculptural and artistic images to live mewing sights.
You will need time on this route, because “cat-like” objects are scattered throughout the historical center of the city, and in some places you will want to linger. Alternatively, you can visit not all places at a time, but choose the most interesting places to stay there longer.
The route begins in the center of the Cat capital of Russia - with a visit to the country's first cat cafe-interactive museum “The Republic of Cats”.
Then - in half an hour on foot or in 10 minutes by public transport - you will get to Malaya Sadovaya Street, where you will get acquainted with the sculptures of the cat Elisha and the cat Vasilisa. Further along Nevsky - to the intersection with Liteiny Prospect, where you will find the "Republic of cats" with a cat cafe and a souvenir shop.
Then there are two route options. You can continue communication with tailed Petersburgers in the Soulmate time cafe on Fontanka, or you can go for souvenirs to the Yashkin Kot store to the Dostoevskaya metro station. If you are lucky, you will meet Yasha himself, the red-tailed owner of the shop. And do not forget to look at Marata Street, where the cat Silence of Matroskin walks on the eaves of house 36 on its own.
Here the main route ends. If you still have the strength, you can go down the subway, to the Petrograd side and look for the House with cats on Maly Prospect and Lunar Cats Street on Kamenny Island.
