The first museum in Russia, completely dedicated to cats. It opened in 2008 in the city of Vsevolozhsk, 10 kilometers north of St. Petersburg. Under the roof of the museum, more than 4,000 different cats coexist: a huge collection of figurines from different countries, paintings, household items, postcards, and photographs. All sorts of folklore on cat themes collected here: proverbs and sayings, poems and fairy tales, signs and riddles.

There are also live exhibits here, they are also employees. Today, the museum employs 8 cats and cats of different breeds.

Special attention is paid to the history of the Hermitage cats and the fate of cats in besieged Leningrad.

The museum regularly hosts exhibitions of cats, theatrical performances, workshops and art picnics. Here you can drink tea or coffee with sweets, listen to the tour, draw a comic and a card, pet the cat, take a memorable photo, look into the underground of Baba Yaga, play in the house of Carlson.

We add that the famous Republic of cats in St. Petersburg is a branch of the Vsevolozhsk Museum of cats.
