Starting from the Peter the Great’s House Museum, the first imperial residence in Russia, you will walk along Petrovskaya Embankment. Admire the Summer Garden and the Summer Palace of Peter I on the opposite bank of the Neva. Then you cross over the very first St. Petersburg bridge - Ioannovsky and for good luck throw a coin to Hare, who, according to legend, gave the island its name.
You will visit the Peter and Paul Fortress: go up to the viewing platforms, go down to the mysterious underground passage - Poterna of the Sovereign Bastion, visit the Peter and Paul Cathedral, where Russian monarchs are buried, say hello to the bronze Peter by Mikhail Shemyakin.
Having crossed the Kronverksky Strait along the bridge of the same name, take a walk along the eponymous promenade past the Artillery Museum, which history dates back to the Petrine era. If you are tired, you can return to Petrogradsky Island through the same St. John’s Bridge.
Along the alleys of the Alexander Park, you will reach St. Petersburg in miniature - the Mini City model and complete your route at the Gorkovskaya metro station.
