St. Petersburg suburbs
We invite you to a walking tour through Pavlovsk, often referred to as Russia’s Switzerland, with its park/palace ensemble considered one of the world’s landscape masterpieces.
Our guide will show you the royal residence, and tell you lesser-known facts from the life of Paul I, Russia’s most enigmatic and controversial emperor.
The tour is conducted by

Route and content of the tour
The tour begins at the Pavlovsk station where you can easily get to either by car or by public transport, the best choice being the commuter train from the Vitebsky railway station, an outstanding art deco monument in itself. The ride by train takes around 30 minutes.
Our guide will meet you at the station in Pavlovsk.
Unfortunately not preserved, the historic Pavlovsk station was known as Russia’s first ever symphonic venue that once witnessed a concert conducted by Johann Strauss II. Its location is marked by a memorial stone in the park.
In addition to a walk in the park, you will see interiors of the Grand Palace, including Paul’s collection of watches that perfectly describes the palace’s enigmatic owner. Our guide will also tell you many legends and true stories from the lives of the palace’s former residents.
In the park, you will find cafes to have a comfortable lunch. Boat rental services are available in the summer.
Booking to Pavlovsk’s park and palace is also available at https://pavlovskmuseum.ru.
Pavlovsk Palace is closed for visiting on Mondays.
