A bronze figure of a polar explorer with two dogs is installed on the corner of Nalichnaya Street and Bering Street, near the building of the Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute of Roshydromet. Sculptural composition is mounted on a pedestal of white granite. The inscription in the stone is: "Those who walked first, those who are going now, those who have yet to pass."
This monument became the first monument in Russia, dedicated to all Russian polar explorers of the past, present, and future.
