Monument to the fabulist on one of the main avenues of the Summer Garden is one of the first monuments to Russian writers. It was built in 1855 on the initiative of General Rostovtsov, a friend of I.A. Krylov.

The famous sculptor Baron von Klodt installed a bronze statue of the fabulist on a granite pedestal. I.A. Krylov sits on a rock and holds a pen and a notebook in his hands. The pedestal is decorated with bronze images of the characters of the fables of Krylov – these are both people and animals. Tourists and locals with children like to have a rest on the platform near the monument.
