Sasha Frolova. Kaleidoscope

Mostly known to the public due to her untraditional art objects and latex costume designs, Sasha Frolova presents her first solo exhibition ever held in St. Petersburg.

The exhibition is centered around the Kaleidoscope installation that multiplies and refracts her works in its mirror surfaces.

“I strive to achieve the effect of fascination in everything I do,” Frolova says. “The word fascination is very close to me. In art it means you can't take your eyes from the piece, you are attracted to what you see, and most often you don't understand why. I like to give the viewer room for interpretation — that's the freedom of contemporary art. As an artist I want the viewer to try not to understand but to feel the form, to be fascinated, to freeze, to admire, to stop analyzing and start perceiving.”
