Asymmetry. Olga Bulgakova and Alexander Sitnikov

The Museum of 20^th and 21^st Century St. Petersburg Art presents an exhibition of recent works by the internationally-known Moscow-based artists Olga Bulgakova and Alexander Sitnikov.

Back in the 1970s, the two were among Moscow’s first contemporary artists to have begun using the artistic language of metaphor and allegory, showing the surrounding world through the prism of fantasy, theater, and magic.

Bulgakova’s section displays works from her series The Names, Matriarchy, and Biblical Sketches, while Sitnikov’s part features 30 of his paintings abundant with mythological allusions and cultural codes.

The exhibition will last until August 7, 2022.
