Exhibition "Scientific School of N. I. Pirogov"

Nikolai Ivanovich Pirogov is one of the outstanding figures in Russian and world medicine, surgeon, teacher and public figure, creator of topographic anatomy and experimental direction in surgery, one of the founders of military field surgery.

The exhibition presents little-known materials from the funds of the Military Medical Museum, in particular, the personal fund of the great scientist: manuscripts, letters, students of NI Pirogov, notes of Pirogov's lectures; letters, notes of pupils to NI Pirogov; an album presented by students of the University of Dorpat to NI Pirogov; items from the obstetric clinic, ophthalmology department, as well as medical instruments of the 19th century.
