The Green Hall of the Marble Palace opens the exhibition “Ivan Sotnikov. Hercules ". The exhibition is timed to coincide with the 60th anniversary of the birth of one of the brightest representatives of the St. Petersburg underground, Ivan Sotnikov. For the first time, the Russian Museum will display 24 graphic works of the artist dedicated to the ancient Greek hero Hercules, as well as landscapes created on the shores of the Adriatic and the Black Sea.

Ivan Sotnikov (1961-2015) - artist and priest, representative of the unofficial art of Leningrad - St. Petersburg, one of the founders of the New Artists group, member of the Mitki group. His first exhibition at the Russian Museum is devoted to graphics, which, unlike painting, is less known to the general public.

All exhibited works were provided by the family of Ivan Sotnikov.
