Exhibition "Tsar's leisure. Hunting in the Maryinsky lands"

From June 23, the exhibition “Tsar's Leisure. Hunting in the Maryinsky lands ”. The project was implemented jointly with the Maryino. At the exposition, the viewer will see watercolor copies of a deck of cards with scenes from the royal hunt by Mihai Zichy.

The theme of the emperor's court hunt occupies a significant place in the work of Mihai Zichy. Alexander II was a passionate hunter, and the artist had to accompany him on trips, to paint the plots from them later in watercolors. Among his hunting watercolors, a series of 52 watercolors that make up a set of playing cards stands out.

Watercolor painters Olga Ivleva and Nikolay Chiryatyev created enlarged copies of Zichy's maps. Their works will be presented at an exhibition at the museum on the Moyka embankment, 100.
