The Street Art Museum, together with the Public Art Center, is opening an exhibition of paper public art following the results of the open competition “Criticizing, Suggest! Instead of Fischer, go to Bolotnaya. The project will present the best art concepts for the public space of Moscow's Bolotnaya Embankment.

The exhibition of paper public art invites viewers to get acquainted with the ideas of Russian authors working with urban space. The trend towards the formation of a comfortable urban environment has raised the issue of works of art that can be placed on the streets of modern cities.

Are contemporary artists able to offer high-quality and original projects for the city as opposed to traditional bronze monuments? The organizers of the exhibition are trying to figure it out, having set themselves the task of exploring the possibilities of the local art scene and finding artists capable of answering the request for large-scale projects for Russian capitals.

The presented works were selected according to the results of the open competition “Criticizing, Suggest! Instead of Fischer to Bolotnaya, "which was a response to the public discussion around the installation of the Big Clay No. 4 object by the Swiss artist Urs Fischer in Moscow. The exposition included sculptures and objects, as well as video visualizations, AR masks, animations and renders of the proposed concepts.

“The debate around Fischer revealed the uncertainty of the townspeople that Russian artists are generally capable of creating world-class public art. Referring to the results of the open competition, we want, if not to dispel these doubts, then at least to show the general picture of public art in Russia - an actual cut presented by authors and teams from all over the country ”, - Tatiana Pinchuk, Director of the Street Art Museum.
