The new 24 X 4 Gallery will host a retrospective exhibition of world net art star Brazilian-Dutch artist Rafael Rosendhal, known for his web-based art.
Rafael Rosendahl (b. 1980, lives and works in New York) is an artist for whom the Internet is the canvas. He mainly works with websites, creating animated abstract patterns and interactive images that explore the screen as a scenic space. In addition, his artistic practice includes installations, drawings, texts and lectures. The huge network of domains he created attracts a large number of online visitors and exceeds 15 million visits per year.
Raphael is also the author of BYOB (Bring Your Own Projector), a new open source DIY format for curating exhibition projects that instantly became popular around the world. Major exhibitions: Venice Biennial, Valencia Biennial, Moca Taipei, Casa Franca Brasil Rio, TSCA Gallery Tokyo (personal), Spencer Brownstone Gallery NYC (personal), NIMk Amsterdam (personal), Stedelijk Museum project space (personal).
