Central City Children's Library. AS Pushkin and the St. Petersburg Union of Artists invite you to the international book-illustrative exhibition "A Tale between Light and Darkness", which introduces the best book illustrations for children's fairy tales.

The exhibition presents reprints of original works and books with illustrations by artists from Germany, Estonia, Iran, Spain, Colombia, Canada, England and Russia, awarded with honorary diplomas of the International Council for Children's Books (IBBY).

Visitors to the exhibition will be able to get acquainted with the works of Russian illustrators of children's books - Tatyana Mavrina, Mikhail Bychkov, Igor Oleinikov, Vera Pavlova, Anton Lomaev, Olga Monina. Tatyana Alekseevna Mavrina and Igor Yulievich Oleinikov are the only Russian holders of the Gold Medal of H. K. Andersen, the most prestigious award in children's literature.

The exhibition is held as part of the annual project "Open the Book - Open the World" and is timed to coincide with the 37th World Congress of the International Council for Children's Books at UNESCO (IBBY), which will be held for the first time in Moscow from 10 to 12 September 2021.

The co-curator of the exhibition is the artist Viive Noor, the organizer of international exhibition projects, including the Tallinn Triennial of Illustration.
