"The game with the clouds"

Evgeny Rastorguev - Moscow painter, sculptor, book graphic artist, one of the representatives of the liberal wing of the Moscow Union of Artists. He studied at the Gorky Art College, immediately after completing his studies, he began to participate in exhibitions.

At the exhibition at MISP, Rastorguev will appear before the audience as an amazing writer-dreamer, trying to modernize the uncomplicated life of the Russian province, choosing characters characteristic of the first quarter of the 20th century as heroes for his works: men, sellers, dandies, hairdressers, magicians and gamblers who all the same, they carry the features of modernity: in them, as in the manifestations of the Russian mental code, Rastorguev sees the world today.

In addition to paintings, sculptures will be presented at the exhibition, the basis for which were traditional forms of the Gorodets clay toy. In small sculptures, the masters also combined original and modern imagery. For them, their own technique was developed and the main forming element resembling a ceramic kink was found.

“A game with clouds” is a display of works united by a special sense of time and space, filled with good-natured humor, a reverent attitude to the past and present.

The exposition of the exhibition, which includes more than 30 paintings and 13 sculptures, presents the viewer with a rare collection of works by Rastorguev created over four decades from the 1970s to the 2000s.
