Jazz on the New Stage. Intuitive Project

On November 10 at the New Stage of the Alexandrinsky Theater in the program “Jazz at the New Stage” will perform a rare guest in St. Petersburg, an outstanding Riga saxophonist and flutist Deniss Paškevičs, whose name is well known in the jazz world far beyond the Baltic, the Latvian Grammy winner for jazz album of 2017. Pashkevich is a follower of the traditions of John Coltrane and Miles Davis, the author of his own compositions in a variety of styles and genres ranging from funk and hard bop to the most daring avant-garde experiments.

At the New Stage of the Alexandrinsky Theater, Denis Pashkevich will give a concert together with the “Intuitive Project”. The “Intuitive Project” is a St. Petersburg group that feels equally comfortable in the modern style from funk to jazz-rock and in world music. Having released the debut album “Northern Jazz” in 2017, the group actively performs in Russia and abroad. The popular portal JazzPeople called the project and its soloist the face of modern Russian jazz. Refined harmonies and rhythms, stylistic diversity will delight sophisticated music lovers, and emotional vocals make this bright and original music understandable to listeners in Russia and abroad.
