Museum
Museum-apartment of the artist I.I. Brodsky is located in the heart of St. Petersburg, in a house built according to the project of K. Rossi and L. Benois.
I.I. Brodsky, a favorite disciple of I.E. Repin, lived in this apartment for the last 15 years of his life, from 1924 to 1939. In 1949 a museum was opened here, where the unique collection of Russian artists is presented. Preserved are memorial items: furniture, books, photos with autographs of many famous people - this creates a unique aura of the artist's house, the atmosphere of life in the 1920s-1930s.
In the 19th century on the second floor, in a hall with magnificent acoustics, there was a salon of Counts of Vielgorski, famous for its musical and literary evenings. Today, vocal-instrumental chamber concerts of classical music are held here. Temporary exhibitions of contemporary artists are held in the exhibition hall of the museum.
