The first (Kirovsk-Vyborg) line of the Leningrad metro opened on November 15, 1955: from the Avtovo station, which is rightfully considered an outstanding architectural monument of the 20th century, the first train with passengers to the Ploshad Vosstaniya station was launched. Today, there are 69 stations in the St. Petersburg metro, 1,900 wagons daily run on five lines, transporting more than two million Petersburgers and city guests per day.

Lines of the St. Petersburg Metro:

  • 2nd (Moscow-Petrograd, "Blue");
  • 3rd (Nevsky-Vasileostrovskaya, "Green");
  • 4th (Right-Bank, "Orange");
