The cultural and exhibition center "Eurasia" was opened in 2000 after the reconstruction of the building of the former factory-kitchen of the campus of the Polytechnic Institute.
The factory-kitchen was built in 1931 in the style of constructivism under the project of architects M.D. Felger, S.E. Brovtsev and A.V. Petrov and engineer K.V. Sakhnovsky. At that time, the ideas of the "new way of life" were actively introduced in society, and the kitchen factories, designed to free the housewives from domestic hassle, were being built all over the country. Inside such a "factory" were industrial halls, equipped with the latest technology, convenience stores, dining rooms, recreation rooms, administrative and office spaces.
The flat roof of the factory-kitchen housed a walking zone.
In addition, the student campus of the 1930s included 7 five-story dormitories, a club with a cinema hall, a kindergarten and a laundry.
The building of the cultural and exhibition center "Eurasia" is an architectural monument and an object of cultural heritage. Today exhibitions, food and clothing fairs and other events are organized here.
