St. Petersburg Philharmonic of jazz music was opened on January 1, 1989 thanks to the enthusiasm and active work of the famous jazz musician - a multi-instrumentalist with a world-famous name, composer David Goloshchekin. It is one of the elite jazz clubs in the world.

In the walls of the Philharmonic all jazz styles are playing, from blues to modern forms, performed by the best professional jazz musicians of St. Petersburg, Russia and foreign countries. Concerts take place in two halls: a large "Jazz Philharmonic Hall" and a small "Ellington Hall".

Such outstanding jazz musicians as Wynton Marsalis, Jimmy Cobb, Barry Harris, Richie Cole, Eddie Gomez, Herb Geller, Benny Golson, Monty Alexander, Michal Urbaniak, Dave Holland, Valery Ponomaryov, Igor Bril, Alexey Kuznetsov, Georgy Garanyan, Igor Butman and many others were performing here.

Annually in the end of June-beginning of July in the Philharmonic of jazz International festival of a jazz "The Swing of the White night" is geld. Concerts in two halls of the Philharmonic, jam sessions, gala concerts in the open air, a boat trip along the Neva and the Gulf of Finland are on is program.
