"Elf garden"

Address
Stremyannaya Str., 9
Daily

"Elfovsky" or "elven" garden got its name from the nearby café "Elf". In the 80-ies of the twentieth century, cafe and public garden were a meeting place for creative people, representatives of the Leningrad underground. In the square, artists, poets, rock musicians, philosophers and just hippies gathered. In particular, Viktor Tsoi, Boris Grebenshchikov, and Alexander Bashlachev were here.

Today, those legendary times are reminiscent of a commemorative plaque and a pillar-pointer, the arrows of which point to the cult places where the informal public was gathering.
