Library in the name of А.S. Griboedov

A modern library that combines the functions of the book and cultural information space. In the library of A.S. Griboyedov you can read books, look through daily newspapers and fresh magazines, work on the Internet, watch and discuss masterpieces of world cinema and contemporary films in the Bayan cinema club.

In addition, there is a unique "Library of National Literatures" - the only place in the city where books are collected in the languages of all nationalities living in St. Petersburg.

Library in the name of A.S. Griboyedov occupies the second floor of the former merchant's house of merchant Duryshkin on the corner of Sadovaya and Gorokhovaya streets. The house was erected in the late XVIII - early XIX century and rebuilt in 1865 by the project of architects E.G. Yurgens, A.I. Melnikov and N.A. Gamazov. The library settled here in 1934.
