The Road of Life was urgently built in the autumn of 1941, it ran from Leningrad to the shore of Lake Ladoga, and then across Ladoga: during navigation — by water, and in winter on ice. We will drive along the overland part of the road, along which the main museums and monuments are located.

We will see:

• Rzhevskiy corridor — a section of the road that passed through the city: the first seven kilometres along which transport columns passed from Rzhevka station;
• “Flower of Life” — a memorial created in memory of the dead children of besieged Leningrad, including the mourning mound “Diary of Tanya Savicheva” with eight steles — pages of the blockade diary;
• a monument to the legendary “half-truck” on Rumbolovskaya Gora and many other monuments, including: “Daily Bread”, “The Regulator”, “Baltic Wings”, “Katyusha”;
• the famous monument ”The Broken Ring”’ on the shore of Ladoga lake;
• Osinovetsky lighthouse, near which there is a museum ‘Road of Life’, where the authentic items and documents of the blockade times are collected, as well as an open-air exposition — the same truck ”Polutorka”, aircraft Li-2, cargo ships and other equipment of the war years.

The excursion starts at a convenient time in a convenient place. During the trip you will be accompanied by a licensed guide — a specialist in the history of the war and the siege of Leningrad.
