Julia Bezshtanko. BLACK MIRROR

Julia Bezshtanko was born in 1975. She graduated from the Chelyabinsk Art College (1994), the State Academy of Theater Arts, Department of Stage Art and Theater Technology (2003). Works in graphics, painting, photography, installations, video art. She is experimenting actively using unconventional materials - silicone, synthetic winterizer, paraffin. Actively engaged in scenography. During the creative career that began in the mid-1990s, she took part in dozens of exhibition projects in various cities of Russia.

Here is what the artist tells about herself in the Borey gallery: “As an experimental artist, I was interested in the light output of black paper. I created a series of graphic works capturing the views of the city in the fall, when it gets dark quickly and the trees under the lanterns look mesmerizing. The work was done on black paper with a watercolor pencil and tempera. So the exhibition project “Black Mirror” appeared. ”
