The exhibition project of Jean-Christophe Coue's "Scenery"

The exhibition was based on documentary series of photographs, commissioned by UNICEF, the UN and the OSCE in 2007–2010. In black and white photographs, made in the manual printing technique, fragments of the life of countries that have passed through tragic events unfold before the viewer — real combat operations. The name of the exhibition refers to theatrical and film productions. After the events take place, the reality becomes the scenery, and the details snatched from the lens of the photographer are evidence.

The exhibition presents more than 60 photographs taken in Kosovo, Abkhazia and Transnistria. The multimedia sculpture “The View” (2019) made of acrylic glass and the film “Internal Movements” (2010), which was awarded the prize of the Air France exhibition in Paris, complement and reveal the theme of the exposition.
