Exhibition project “AES + F. Predictions and revelations »

The Manege and the Gallery "Triumph" represent the exhibition project of leading Russian artists who have gained wide popularity outside of Russia - the creative team of AES + F (Tatiana Arzamasova, Lev Evzovich, Evgeny Svyatsky, Vladimir Fridkes). AES + F create works at the junction of photography, video and digital technologies, but they constantly pay attention to traditional techniques, especially sculpture, as well as painting, drawing and architecture.

The exhibition will present more than twenty years of art-group creativity: from the “Islamic Project” (from 1996) to the broadcast of the recording of the opera production “Turandot” (premiered in January 2019). A total of more than 70 works of artists from 7 projects of different years: video installations, sculptures, carpets, digital collages.

Worlds of AES + F line up on a deep understanding of the iconography, allegories and subjects of the history of classical art. Broadcasted through a modern socio-cultural context, they open their doors to every viewer eager to unravel the hypnotic play of meanings. AES + F does not just expose the global situation in which our world is today, but also predict what will come tomorrow. The visual language of the art group, combining the aesthetics of Baroque and Mannerism, creates a series of hypertrophied images in which you can find yourself with the necessary amount of irony. Surrealistic phantasmagorias immerse the viewer in the metaspace, where the usual categories of good and evil, beauty and ugliness, wealth and poverty, vice and benefactors lose their imperativeness.
