Exhibition "Touch the Arctic"

The exhibition "Touch the Arctic" will be held in the atrium of the Historical Park from September 17 to October 1, 2020. The purpose of the exhibition is to demonstrate the potential of St. Petersburg in the exploration and development of the Arctic regions, to popularize the history of the exploration and development of the Arctic, to preserve the memory of the outstanding heroes-polar explorers.

The exhibition consists of six thematic sections: “History of Russian Polar Research. The role of St. Petersburg in the development of the Arctic ”,“ Nature and ethnography of the polar spaces ”,“ Northern Sea Route ”,“ Professions and life of polar explorers ”,“ Technology beyond the Arctic Circle ”,“ Modern development of the Arctic and prospects for the development of the regions of the Russian Arctic ”.

A special section "Games and Quizzes" will allow the guests of the exhibition to test their knowledge of the history of the exploration, study and exploration of the Arctic by answering the questions of the virtual quiz and putting together their own expedition to the North Pole during an interactive game.

Visitors will be able to get acquainted with the exhibition both independently and with a guide. The entrance to the exhibition is free.
