Inspiration by Japan

Loft-project "Etaji" will show the exhibition "Inspiration by Japan"from April 3 to June 2, timed to the end of the year of Japan in Russia.

Many researchers recognize "japaneseism" as one of the key influences in the development of impressionism and post-impressionism. Virtually every artist of the late 19th and early 20th century had his own history connected with Japanese art.

“At the exhibition, with the help of paintings and their descriptions, we show the comparative influence of Japanese painting on the style and results of works by European artists. Literally, we can see by which picture of the artist Katsushika Hokusai Claude Monet was inspired, writing famous haystacks, and we will know that Vincent Van Gogh painted his irises with a similar picture of Utagawa Hiroshige” says the exhibition organizer Alexander Smirnov.

Thanks to modern technology, using the giclee technique, you can completely recreate the immortal masterpieces on a natural canvas, reproduce the finest nuances of color and light and shade, convey the character and texture of the stroke. Even the time stamp in the form of craquelure is preserved. In contrast to artistic copies made by oil on canvas by professional copyist artists, digital art reproduction is not an imitation, but an exact, facsimile reproduction of the original.
