Memory of generations: the Great Patriotic War in the visual arts

On September 3, in the Historical Park "Russia - My History" a multimedia exhibition "Memory of Generations: the Great Patriotic War in the Fine Arts" will open, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The project was organized by the Association of Historical Parks "Russia is my history" with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and with the participation of the Russian Military Historical Society.

The multimedia exposition will present more than 200 masterpieces of painting by Russian masters of the 20th century. The exposition will acquaint visitors with the work of famous Soviet artists and sculptors: A. Deineka, P. Korin, A. Plastov, P. Konchalovsky, Kukryniksov, Y. Pimenov, V. Mukhina, E. Vuchetich, A. Samokhvalov, R. Falk, A. Laktionova, V. Yakovleva, I. Glazunov, V. Popkova, G. Korzheva.

With the help of special effects, famous works of painting have turned into independent mini-novellas that the artist's keen eye has chosen from everyday life at the front as a subject for his canvas. This became possible thanks to video mapping technologies, laser projection equipment, touchscreen panels containing extensive historical explications and additions.

The preparation of the project took over a year. As a result, the exposition, consisting of 8 thematic halls, united the collections of 45 museums of the country, including the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Exhibition Center ROSIZO, the State Russian Museum, the Victory Museum, the Central Museum of the Russian Armed Forces, and the State Central Museum of Contemporary History of Russia.

The multimedia project was a continuation of the art exhibition "Memory of Generations", which took place in the Moscow "Manezh" from November 4 to December 10, 2019.

The exhibition will take place in the XX century multimedia exposition and will run until November 1, 2020.
