The Shadows of Apollo project is an appeal to mythology, the otherworldly world, whose inhabitants are diverse and beautiful in their own way. The author shows the viewer his immersion in the world of the invisible. Romanticism presents the demon figure not only as something negative, but also exalts him, making him a lyrical hero.

“Pushkin was also romantics, who described the plague as a woman’s kiss. Lermontov with his demon, the same Vrubel. Well, how beautiful the dark force is in the novel The Master and Margarita. Pop culture and cinema are saturated with romanticism. This is science fiction, fantasy and detective stories, and my favorite "Ridik", where the main character is a criminal, but how noble he is! Romanticism is “two-dimensional”: there is a world parallel to us, filled with paranormal beings, ghosts, demons, angels, and they all communicate with us. My acquaintance with black angels began while studying at the Ivanovo Art School. Sleeping in a hostel, I saw the most terrible dreams, after which I woke up in sweat, like in Hollywood movies. It felt like there was someone in the room. When I closed my eyes and lay down, it seemed that he was bent over my face, and stubbornly looked at me. Sleep paralysis became more frequent, a couple of times in a dream left the body, the angels were like shadows - triangular faces, triangular wings. “Draw us,” they said. So I painted the first icon, without eyes, because I heard only their whispers. Later, the arrival of angels ended. I began to study esotericism to find out what happened to me. Before that, I did not take seriously all these tales until I faced it myself. Black angels came to many people of art. Yesenin with his black man, etc. Later I began to call them "Shadows of Apollo" ", - says the author himself.
