In 2019, it marks 500 years since the death of the most famous artist in the world - Leonardo da Vinci. Loft project "Etaji" opens an exhibition dedicated to the works of Leonardo and his contemporaries.

From February 23 to April 10, 2019, residents and guests of St. Petersburg will have the opportunity to see a unique collection of reproductions of the works of the “Man of the Renaissance,” as the researchers call Leonardo, as well as the works of his contemporaries-painters: Sandro Botticelli, Raphael Santi, Michelangelo Buonarroti and Titian Vecellio.

Leonardo da Vinci - Italian painter, architect, sculptor, scientist and inventor. Generally recognized genius, considered one of the greatest artists of all time. His whole life is shrouded in mystery and mysticism, his work and research are far ahead of their time, and some of his works were continued only in the twentieth century. Even the personality of Leonardo da Vinci’s mother is still a subject of controversy for specialists.

His work falls on a period called the Renaissance. At this time in art in the first place is a man and his activities. “In our exhibition, we tried to cover the most significant for the era works and authors that have received recognition from subsequent generations,” explained the exhibition director Alexander Smirnov.

The works are accompanied by a description of the plots and the history of the creation of each picture. Also for convenience, the exhibition is accompanied by an audio guide. Excursions will be held as well.

Thanks to modern technology, using the “giclee” technique, it is possible to completely recreate immortal masterpieces on a natural canvas, reproduce the smallest nuances of color and light and shade, convey the character and texture of the stroke. Even the time stamp in the form of craquelure is preserved. In contrast to artistic copies made by oil on canvas by professional copyist artists, digital art reproduction is not an imitation, but an exact, facsimile reproduction of the original.
