Aron Iosifovich Zinshtein was born in 1947 in Nizhny Tagil. After moving to Petersburg, he graduated from the Higher Art and Industrial School named after Mukhina. He is a member of the Union of Artists and the Academy of Modern Art. Since the late eighties, he has been actively exhibiting in Russia and abroad, and in 2009 a personal exhibition of the artist took place in the State Hermitage.

Aron Zinshtein has been participating in the artistic life of St. Petersburg for almost 30 years. For many art lovers, his free, at first glance reckless creativity, causes a delighted shock. The artist owns an impressive set of expressive means: he masterfully works in various printing techniques, oil on canvas, overglaze paints on porcelain and, of course, gouache and tempera on paper.

It was gouache works of different years, written in large strokes, that became the basis of the exhibition “Color River of Life”. Gouache helps to reveal the main compositional component in Zinshtein's work - a gesture. We can say that this technique finally found its master in the person of Aron Zinshtein. Together they - the paint and the artist - work wonders of mutual understanding and convey with the greatest accuracy the most subtle experiences from what they saw. You don’t immediately understand what the author likes best: nature, cities, children, their mothers, men and women, gas stoves, football and billiards players, or paint, ready to portray it all. As a result, it seems that the paint itself chooses what to paint, so naturally it responds to the object Aron saw.

Aron Zinshtein is dear to the unpredictable actions of his freedom brush. He is fascinated by the transformation of the smear into a figure, spots in the face, colors in the form, plane in space, inanimate - in the living. Finally, painting is life, and life is painting. The world for him is an excess, a whirlwind of colors and lines, people and objects, gestures and movements, feelings and experiences. The creativity of the St. Petersburg master captivates and excites, prompting him to more acutely perceive the world, feel bolder, live brighter and more festive.
