Alyona Tereshko was born in 1986 in the city of Ishim, Tyumen Region. Graduate of the Department of Monumental Painting SPbGHPA in the name of Stieglitz and the School of the Young Artist of the Pro-Arte Foundation for Culture and Art. She is a member of the HudKruzhok group and the Parasit association. Laureate of the Sergey Kuryokhin Prize in the nomination “Best Media Object” (2017). The exhibition of Alena Tereshko “Why F” is one of the stages of many years of work on the experiences of her own interaction with the paintings of the past that exist today in the status of a masterpiece. The artist invents her workshop of fake fakes, taking into account the academic practices of introducing “classics” through copying, as well as the more exciting stories of fake manufacturers, whose commercially biased attention to the artistic heritage can lead to the appearance of incorrectly cataloged originals. The exhibition presents copies of Judith by Giorgione and Vermeer's Glass of Wine, Velasquez's Venus in the Mirror and Rembrandt's Danai, as well as other super-known works, unlike copies that arose from attempts to reconstruct these works from the point of view of the model model. Optical experiments, reconstruction of the “view of the era” and modern interpretations of the plot are tools that allow you to “revise” the tradition.
