Exhibition “Suvorov. The beginning of the path"

Exhibition “Suvorov. The Beginning of the Path ”is dedicated to the first steps of the future Generalissimo in the military field. This period of A.V.Suvorov's life is fanned by a number of legends, which the forthcoming exposition will help to expose or confirm.

One of the most famous Suvorov stories is the legend of the silver ruble, which Empress Elizaveta Petrovna awarded the young Guardsman Suvorov for exemplary guard duty. At the exhibition you can see an analogue of this rarity and learn about the details of the legendary event.

The exposition will also feature portraits of Suvorov's contemporaries who served at the same time as him. Among them were the brothers A. G., G. G. and F. G. Orlovs, I. P. and N. I. Saltykov, A. A. Prozorovsky and V. I. Maikov. Visitors to the exhibition will see sculptural and pictorial images of Emperor Peter the Great, Empress Elizabeth Petrovna, company commander F.V. Vadkovsky, and others.

Particularly noteworthy is the uniform of the sergeant of the Semyonovsky Life Guards regiment, similar to the one worn by the future commander enrolled in this regiment in 1742. The officers of the regiment ordered this uniform specifically for their regimental museum at the beginning of the twentieth century, and now it is kept by the Suvorov Museum.
