Exhibition “Philip Shangti. The taste of the sensual "

The Erarta Museum presents an exhibition by the French artist Philippe Shangti - a collection of exquisite sensations and sensual pleasures designed to free the unconscious.

The exposition at the Erarta Museum unites 35 works by Philip Shangti. It is difficult to call them staged photographs - the artist acts rather in the role of the director of a large performance, from which individual scenes fall on the posters.

The work of Luxury Pollution Car illustrates the textbook interpretation of the desire of individual men to acquire a supercar as a veiled desire to get all the women of the world.

The work Crazy Waitress, a self-portrait of the artist, deserves special attention. There is everything that many can only dream of: money, women and champagne by the river; a sensual atmosphere of luxury and a captivating invitation to take everything from life. However, this plot is not at all about striving for unrestrained carnal pleasures: the author, although he is in the spatial center of the picture, is not the semantic center of what is happening, but rather is thrown into it for a short time. Instead of lying imposingly in a leather chair, he squatted down, ready at any moment, like a spring, to unbend and jump out of the maelstrom of women and things - the large clock in the background only enhances this feeling. Before us is not an orgy, but another journey in the company of Shangti - this time into the world of those whose life, in the generally accepted scale of values, has gone right. "Crawl under their skin, - as if Shangti invites us, - stay in the skin of the chosen ones at least a little."

The luxury of liberation is indeed the lot of the elite. It takes courage to allow yourself to look at someone else's nakedness and, throwing off the templates, in a sense to be naked yourself. Each visitor of the exhibition in Erarta has to do this way - freeing his own unconscious, allowing himself to show emotions without censorship. The works of Philip Shangti will be a great help for this kind of training.
