Valentin Samarin. SANKI. Renaissance of Silver Photography

An artist, a photographer, and a legendary representative of the Leningrad underground, Valentin Samarin (b. 1928) presents his works created in his trademark technique SANKI he has developed on the basis of classic silver photography.

Having lived for over two decades in Paris in the late 20^th century, Samarin captured with his camera dance performances staged by Maurice Béjart, Pina Bausch, Valery Panov, and many other unique art events.
