LUNAPARK

A project by the St. Petersburg State Museum of Theater and Music in cooperation with the company Cosmos Ltd, LUNAPARK consists of a contemporary art exhibition and a stage performance by Switzerland-based playwright, choreographer and stage director Daniele Finzi Pasca.

Conceived as a journey into the mysterious illusory worlds in the hides of its visitors’ memories, the exhibition combines Vladimir Martirosov’s kinetic objetcs, Sergei Denikin’s airy and almost transparent installations, and Sergei Chernov’s surrealistic spaces with real historic artefacts to create a metaphoric image of a fun fair.

The exhibition is topped with the lyrical soliloquy LUNAPARK staged by Daniele Finzi Pasca, internationally famous director known for his projects with Cirque du Soleil, Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg, Teatro San Carlo in Naples, and many other shows worldwide. His Teatro Sunil has developed a peculiar vision of the art of clowning, dance and acting as combined into a unique theatrical technique, the Theater of the Caress.

In addition to a video version of LUNAPARK, the museum hosts a series of the show’s live performances.
