INFINITY CONCERT presents: Qntal (Germany) - for the first time in St. Petersburg!

When they begin to list German darkwave bands, QNTAL usually follow somewhere at the top of the list. You should not be surprised by this - the group began its journey almost thirty years ago and since then it has never turned away from it, opening up newer and newer facets of how surprising and organic the electronic interpretation of European musical heritage can be.

In QNTAL music, the fragile ambient enters into an alchemical reaction with triphop, the melodies breaking through the soft waves of sound, whose homeland was lost somewhere in the maze of history, fascinate, and the vocal has a truly hypnotic effect, forcing again and again to return to their recordings. However, the great vocal of Sigrid Hausen is a reason for a separate conversation. Perhaps it is in it that the magical power of QNTAL lies.

It is not surprising that with such an immersion in medieval themes, that Gothic cathedrals or ancient ruins become a stage for QNTAL performances, lyrics are sometimes written in ancient European languages or Latin, and one of the albums was generally devoted to the author’s interpretation of the ancient legend of Tristan and Isolde. As a result, this is not the most convincing (and, at the same time, the most modern) view of ancient Europe, or perhaps the last glimpse of German romanticism, and each of their songs is similar to the David Caspar picture that has turned into sound.

Despite the cult status among lovers of darkwave and fans of the gothic subculture, it is difficult to call QNTAL an active group in terms of concerts. And in Russia they will be generally for the first time - and this adds special significance to the upcoming concerts.
