On October 10, the Presidential Library will host the next concert of the musical and educational project “Music of the Russian Statehood”, dedicated to the era of Tsar Reformer Alexander II.

Alexander II, who ruled for 26 years, implemented modernization of all spheres of state and society, including culture. The creation of the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow and the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg (named after the wife of Alexander II, Empress Maria Alexandrovna) gave a huge push to the development of musical culture.

An evening at the Presidential Library will embody the most significant pages of musical culture of that time. Parts from M. I. Glinka’s Life for the Tsar will be performed, music from the great ballets staged with the participation of Marius Ivanovich Petipa, operas by P. I. Tchaikovsky, M. P. Mussorgsky, G. Verdi, I. Strauss and other significant compositions of Russian and foreign composers who worked in the era of Alexander II.

During the evening, the audience will be greeted by Nikolai Tsiskaridze, Artist of Russia and the rector of the A. Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet. A dance from the students of the Academy A. Y. Vaganova will highlight the birth of the ballet.

The evening will be decorated with the brilliant soprano of an outstanding Italian diva, the favorite singer of the Vatican and the priest of the La Scala theater Chiara Taigi, the soulful and deep bass of the Yerevan Opera Theater Hovhannes Nersesyan, the brilliant performance of the winner of international competitions of pianist Stanislav Solovyov, performances by the Mariinsky Theater, the International Symphonic Symphony "Tauride".
