From June 4 to August 31, one of the largest exhibitions of the new wave of contemporary Georgian artists - Ilya Balavadze, Mikhail Balavadze, Merab Surviladze, Luisa Laperadze, Lana Tsagareishvili, Archibald Kardzai, Natalia Lashkhi, Tamara Tali Toidze.

For the first time, artists are exhibited in such a composition, and the main curatorial task was the most ambitious attempt to present to the St. Petersburg audience a whole layer of modern Georgian trends in the visual arts, the other side of authentic Georgian contemporary art, which they had never had the opportunity to get acquainted with in such fullness.

The exhibition project brings together the works of eight recognized Georgian painters, and in this context, an unobtrusive historical reference would be appropriate: many “Russified” artists moved from Tbilisi to St. Petersburg with a wave of immigration in the 80-90s, forming an impressive community and continuing to preserve the traditions of the classical, mostly figurative, painting, from Niko Pirosmani to European old masters. In Tbilisi, contemporary art is gaining momentum, bold and avant-garde, whose adherents are already known far beyond Georgia for their color, innovation and amazing experiments. One of the key representatives of the second cohort will be presented at Artmuz, representing a picturesque extract of contemporary Georgian art.

Despite the humorous name, the project "From Georgia with love" implies a deep concept. This exhibition is a pictorial reflection on the theme of global processes: social problems, issues related to the environment, national memory, the role of man in the world's upheavals and his personal space. Sharp, critical and humor inherent in the Georgian people at the genome level.
