Erarta Museum opens to the public the first exhibition of the “flying artist” Denis Saunin, where visitors will see the embodiment of the abstract through the concrete.

Denis Saunin belongs to a new wave of post-modern artists: he works mainly in a figurative manner, applying academic skills to convey special states of consciousness and seek fundamental balance. Some critics call the artist a metaphysical realist. According to Anna Shchegoleva, he creates a world “parallel, reflected and independent of the conventionality of time ... Here the earthly and the unearthly organically coexist: mountains and the ocean come in contact with low-hanging celestial bodies - be it the Moon, planet or a whole“ parade ”of space objects . The familiar, everyday is combined with the incredible and the unknown. The author’s inner world is projected into the outer one, they merge and give rise to a new reality ... ” Moreover, the abstract in the work of the author is embodied through the concrete and vice versa.

Denis Saunin grew up in the artist's family in the Far East. It was there that the inherent sense of emptiness, silence of space, inner silence was formed, and the images of the Pacific coast influenced the scale of perception of the world. Contemplative, sometimes fantastic paintings by the artist immerse the viewer in an atmosphere of epic loneliness.

Space plays a special role in Saunin’s work and life: he conceptualizes it and fills it with special content, working in the workshop, it accompanies him when he flies over the Baltic in Lebyazhye on a paraglider. The exhibition "Abstract and Concrete" in the Erarta Museum is the "flights" of the artist in a dream and in reality.
